HYT S1 Color Editions: Two Millésimes and a Permanent Blue

HYT gives its hydromechanical S1 three new liveries: a Beadblasted Titanium Blue for the permanent collection, and two Millésime Editions in DLC Red and Orange, produced only until April 2027.

One year after laying the foundations of the S1 with three models, HYT opens a chromatic chapter for its sports line. The architecture stays exactly as it was conceived: the same ergonomic titanium case, the same 501-CM calibre and the same fluidic display, where a coloured liquid tells the hours. What changes is the way colour reaches the movement, the case inserts, the hands and the straps. The result is three distinct personalities sharing one hydromechanical signature.

Three Ways of Inhabiting Time

At HYT, colour extends the idea of flow: the liquid marking the hours, the surface treatments of the titanium and the luminescent material that takes over in the dark all speak of circulating energy. The Maison assigns each shade a temperament. Blue stands for depth and continuity, red for intensity, orange for impact and immediacy.

The S1 Beadblasted Titanium Blue joins the permanent collection. The S1 Titanium DLC Red and the S1 Titanium Orange follow the Millésime Edition principle introduced on the T1 series: they are defined by a production window rather than a number of pieces. Both are made from their debut at Watches and Wonders 2026 until April 2027, after which their production ends.

The bead-blasted silver-and-black titanium case diffuses light softly and lightens the visual mass of the watch. Against this mineral backdrop, the blue fluid running through the borosilicate capillary appears to float above an openworked movement treated in shades of grey. The blue rubber strap continues the line of the liquid along the lugs.

Rhodium-plated indications and white luminescent hands give clear legibility by day and by night, while the overall tone remains measured. It is the S1 designed to be worn every day.

S1 Titanium DLC Red: Life in the Red Zone

The S1 Titanium DLC Red carries the line’s sporting character to its highest tension. The case is dressed in deep black DLC, into which a red ceramic-coated trim is set, echoing the red liquid that tracks the hours. White and red decals and red luminescent hands continue the contrast on the dial, and the red rubber strap completes the livery.

S1 Titanium Orange: Time in Vivid Orange

Orange is the colour of starting lights and racing overalls. On the S1 Titanium Orange, the satin-finished titanium case frames the dial with an orange ceramic-coated insert, a luminous belt around the movement. Here the fluid is black, a circuit line drawn against orange kerbs. Orange accents on the decals and hands, matching luminescent material and an orange rubber strap place the watch firmly in a racing register.

The Hydromechanical Core

All three watches run on the hand-wound 501-CM calibre: 352 components, 41 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 72-hour power reserve. Two bellows at six o’clock, with walls a quarter of the thickness of a human hair, push two immiscible liquids through a capillary with an internal diameter of 0.8 mm. The meniscus between them is the hour hand. Over twelve hours the coloured column advances around the dial, then returns to its starting point in a retrograde motion. A thermal compensator keeps the display precise across temperature changes.

Protected by seven patents, the fluidic display received the Innovation Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2012. HYT applies the same principle at the summit of its collection, in the Conical Tourbillon Bespoke Atelier.

Ergonomics and Straps

The titanium case measures 45.30 mm in width, 46.30 mm in length and 17.20 mm in thickness, and is water-resistant to 50 metres. Its sides slope towards the wrist and the steep strap attachment angle gives a stable, secure fit.

Each reference comes with two rubber straps: one matched to the case and fluid, one in a quieter tone. HYT’s quick-change system, developed over a year of research on the T1, is integrated into the case middle: a discreet push-button releases the strap, and a titanium pin buckle secures it on the wrist.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the three new S1 Color Editions from HYT?

HYT has released three new S1 liveries: the Beadblasted Titanium Blue for the permanent collection, and two Millésime Editions in DLC Red and Orange that are produced only until April 2027. Each edition features distinct colour treatments on the case, dial, hands, and straps while maintaining the same 501-CM calibre and fluidic display.

How does HYT’s hydromechanical fluidic display work?

The 501-CM calibre uses two bellows that push two immiscible liquids through a capillary tube with an internal diameter of 0.8 mm, with the meniscus between them serving as the hour hand. Over twelve hours the coloured column advances around the dial, then returns to its starting point in retrograde motion, while a thermal compensator maintains precision across temperature changes.

What are the specifications and water resistance of the S1?

The titanium case measures 45.30 mm in width, 46.30 mm in length, and 17.20 mm in thickness with 50 metres of water resistance. The hand-wound 501-CM calibre contains 352 components and 41 jewels, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers a 72-hour power reserve.
