A new “city within the city” for independent watchmaking

In April 2026, CHRONOPOLIS introduces a new horological address in Geneva at Les Halles de l’Île. Positioned as an alternative to traditional watch fairs, it centres on time, people and exchange, placing 20 independent watch brands at the core of a format that is free and open to all from 14 to 18 April, 10 AM to 8 PM, with an additional early window for trade and media.

Each morning from 8 to 10 AM, the fair offers a quieter time reserved for media and retailers, encouraging focused presentations and direct conversations with the brands. For collectors and professionals, this provides space to explore independent watchmaking away from peak visitor hours while keeping the discussion firmly on watches and their creators.

The CHRONOPOLIS 2026 party invitation signals the fair’s nocturnal, urban spirit.

From late afternoon, CHRONOPOLIS shifts into a more social rhythm. Between 5 and 7 PM, daily happy hours with adjusted drink pricing invite visitors, brands and partners to gather in a relaxed atmosphere, extending discussions beyond the booths and nurturing a more informal, community-led watch culture within the venue.

The night side of the city: CHRONOPOLIS Party

The social high point arrives on Thursday 16 April. Following the regular 5–7 PM happy hour, the CHRONOPOLIS Party takes over from 7 PM onwards, remaining open to the public and bringing together brands, media, collectors, retailers and visitors in a single night-time setting.

As evening settles over Les Halles de l’Île, the city-within-a-city concept turns fully nocturnal, with music, drinks and movement between spaces replacing the usual fair tempo. The party underscores CHRONOPOLIS as a place where watchmaking, urban culture and community overlap rather than exist in separate worlds.

Partners, scenography and a shared vision

CHRONOPOLIS confirms Chrono24 as its Global Partner, reflecting a shared belief in accessibility and openness within watchmaking. The collaboration aligns two platforms dedicated to time, community and exchange, echoing Chrono24 Chief Growth Officer José Gaztelu’s view that independent watchmakers deserve a larger, more visible stage.

The fair’s physical identity is entrusted to designer Tom Ducarouge, recognised for an experimental approach to materials and collaborations with houses such as Louis Vuitton and New Balance. For CHRONOPOLIS, he is developing bespoke booth structures and an overall scenography conceived as a “city within the city”, guiding visitors through shifting perspectives while giving each brand a clear, readable presence.

A network of Main Partners supports the project: Jean Rousseau, Donkey Republic, Eagle Eye Watches and Mendel Watches, whose contributions span mobility, services and watchmaking. A curated group of Media Partners, including established watch titles and platforms, extends the conversation beyond Les Halles de l’Île, helping to broadcast values of independence, openness and dialogue across contemporary watch culture.

Why it matters

With its inaugural edition, CHRONOPOLIS redraws what a watch fair can be: less a closed trade show, more an open urban space dedicated to independent watchmaking. For collectors from the GCC and beyond, it concentrates access to 20 independent brands within a scenography and social calendar that prioritise direct human encounters as much as horological content.

For readers across the Gulf planning Geneva in April, CHRONOPOLIS stands out as a meaningful new stop on the independent watch calendar. To follow highlights from the fair, you can subscribe to our newsletter or contact our team for guidance around key launches and encounters during the week.
