The Eternal City on the Wrist

The DOXA SUB 200 Grande Roma is the maison’s first SUB special series created expressly for Italy, developed with its Roman partner Gioielleria Grande. Limited to 50 numbered pieces, it pays tribute to the capital with a design that balances restraint, character and a clear sense of place.

The gradient black dial sets the tone, echoing the interplay of light and shadow across Rome’s monuments at dusk. On the reverse, the screw-down caseback is engraved with the Colosseum, a symbol of strength, architecture and memory that resonates with collectors who value beauty built to endure.

The SUB 200, Refined for Rome

Within the DOXA universe, the SUB 200 is the brand’s purest take on the dive watch, drawing from historic 1960s models for legibility, robustness and a recognisable silhouette. The Grande Roma edition preserves this platform and adds detailing that anchors it to the Eternal City.

The 42 mm 316L stainless steel case is water-resistant to 200 meters (20 BAR), with a screw-down crown and caseback. A scratch-resistant, anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal in glass box style adds vintage charm while enhancing the depth of the gradient dial. The black unidirectional rotating bezel, together with luminescent indices, hands and outer minute track treated with Super-LumiNova®, secures clarity in low light.

The SUB 200 Grande Roma is powered by the Swiss automatic Sellita SW200 movement, offering hours, minutes, seconds and a date display at 3 o’clock with an approximate 38-hour power reserve. It is delivered on DOXA’s stainless steel “beads-of-rice” bracelet with folding clasp and diving extension, plus a lighter brown textile NATO strap with stainless steel pin buckle, reinforcing its versatility from city streets to coastal escapes.

A Roman Partnership with Long-Term Vision

The SUB 200 Grande Roma also reflects DOXA’s partnership with Gioielleria Grande, a reference name for watch clients in Italy and the brand’s official partner in Rome. Special editions sit at the core of the jeweller’s approach, highlighting brands with strong and authentic identities.

Michele Grande notes that the stylised Colosseum, the dial tone and the special packaging form the narrative thread running through the jeweller’s limited collaborations. For DOXA, CEO Jan Edöcs views the alliance as an expression of the brand’s DNA: authenticity, craftsmanship and respect for heritage developed through focused projects in key markets such as Italy.

Why it matters

By uniting a historic dive watch with a Roman narrative and a tightly controlled run of 50 pieces, DOXA and Gioielleria Grande speak directly to collectors who prize substance, story and a clear sense of place.
