Design & Aesthetics
Yellow gold enters the Classic case for the first time with this Série Atelier edition.
The choice is not decorative alone. Warm 2N yellow gold provides the tonal foundation for the entire composition, and every subsequent colour decision, from the taupe-to-chocolate opaline dial gradient to the ochre “31” date numeral, traces back to it. Roman numerals and baton indexes are transferred in white; the minute track appears in a lighter taupe; the logo in chocolate. Readability, a fixed principle at Laurent Ferrier, is never sacrificed to atmosphere.
Moon Phase & Craft Detail
The moon phase at 6 o’clock is the compositional centrepiece of the dial.
The obsidian disc passes through engraving, hand-painting with white Super-LumiNova, high-temperature firing and final detailing, with each stage adding depth to crater and star surfaces. Above it sits the moon bridge in anise-yellow plique-à-jour enamel: a lattice of translucent enamel with no metal substrate, suspended visually above the stone. At Fondation Haute Horlogerie, this technique is recognised among the most demanding in decorative watchmaking.
Movement & Finishing
The LF126.02 calibre distinguishes between 30- and 31-day months automatically, requiring a single manual correction each year on 1 March for February.
Its long-blade click, inspired by 19th-century pocket watches, is hand-polished and hand-rounded in the Maison’s workshops. Bridges carry rhodium-plated Côtes de Genève; the main plate is circular-grained; edges are hand-bevelled and polished; screw heads are fully mirror-polished. These are the finishing standards associated with Watches and Wonders presentations from independent manufactures operating at this level.
