Hautlence Sphere Series 5 debuts in Mexico City with a snow-white three-dimensional jumping-hour display, limited to 28 pieces worldwide.
A Measured Take
- Four conical gears arranged around two crossed axes inclined at 21 degrees drive the snow-white titanium sphere that reveals the hours on the Sphere Series 5, reference DA82-TI02.
- Limited to 28 pieces worldwide, with the first 30 days of availability reserved exclusively for Mexico.
- The hand-wound A82 calibre, assembled at Hautlence’s own workshops, delivers a minimum 72-hour power reserve.
- Case measures 37.0 × 45.0 × 17.4 mm in Grade 5 titanium; water resistance to 10 ATM.
Design & Mechanics
White is not a neutral choice for a watch this architecturally dense. On the Sphere Series 5, the Snow White finish strips away colour contrast to place the geometry itself under scrutiny: the open case architecture, the retrograde minute arc sweeping across a 180-degree sector, and the hour sphere rotating in three dimensions simultaneously. The brand states that this clarity of finish was chosen deliberately to draw attention to shapes and volumes rather than surface decoration.
The hour sphere is structured Grade 5 titanium with a white coating, its engraved numerals filled with grey Super-LumiNova for low-light legibility. Beneath it, the skeletonised brass base dial carries a rhodium-plated frosted finish, while an intermediate sapphire disc carries the applied minute numerals in Globolight. The white suede strap closes with a titanium folding clasp, keeping the total weight of the piece consistent with the case material’s lightness.
Movement & Materials

The A82 calibre counts 160 components and 31 jewels, running at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Hand-wound and designed in-house, it drives the sphere through a gear train that converts rotational energy into the three-axis display. Each hour change is a mechanical event, not a static pointer advance. The case back is sapphire, engraved with “HAUTLENCE”, “10 ATM” and “Suisse”, offering a direct view of the calibre without requiring removal of the watch.
The Mexico Debut
The Sphere Series 5 made its world premiere at its world premiere at the Salón Internacional de Alta Relojería in Mexico City, presented in partnership with Attila Distribution. During the 30-day exclusivity window, each Mexican allocation is delivered in a custom white exhibition case containing three interchangeable suede straps: intense green, pure white, and vibrant red. All international pieces thereafter ship with the single white strap only. Founded in 2004 and named as an anagram of Neuchâtel, Hautlence produces approximately 200 pieces annually, supported by MELB Holding since 2012.
