  • Ocean Star 200C in 42.5 mm stainless steel with 200 m (20 bar) water resistance.
  • Matt black wave-motif dial with a flaming red unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel.
  • Automatic Caliber 80 with up to 80 hours of power reserve and Nivachron™ balance spring.

  • Brown leather strap with white stitching and quick-change lug bar.

The latest MIDO Ocean Star 200C translates the glow of a tropical sunset into a daily-wear sports watch. Reference M042.430.16.051.00 balances black, red and rose gold tones while delivering the robustness expected of a diver made for life in and around the sea.

MIDO draws on its historic water-resistance expertise, including the Aquadura system of 1930 and the “King of Waterproof Watches” reputation, to give this Ocean Star a strong technical base. A screw-on case back, screw-down crown and carefully constructed 42.5 mm case in satin-finished and polished stainless steel secure water resistance to 20 bar (200 m / 660 ft), in line with the Ocean Star collection standard.

Design: dusk over the ocean

The Ocean Star 200C plays on contrasts between its matt black dial, relief wave motif and vivid red ceramic bezel. The unidirectional rotating bezel features a 60-minute graduation and a luminescent dot of white Super-LumiNova® at 12 o’clock for timing dives or everyday intervals.

Applied indexes with rose gold-coloured PVD edging and white Super-LumiNova® echo the diamond-cut, faceted hour, minute and large seconds hands to ensure clear readability after dark. A day and date aperture at 3 o’clock adds daily practicality, while the MIDO logo in matching rose gold-coloured PVD ties the dial together.

Engineering beneath the surface

Beneath the solid stainless-steel case back, engraved in relief with the Ocean Star collection’s starfish emblem and an individual serial number, MIDO installs the Caliber 80 automatic movement based on the ETA C07.621. This latest-generation calibre delivers up to 80 hours of power reserve, giving the watch extended autonomy beyond conventional daily-wear standards.

A Nivachron™ balance spring increases resistance to shocks, temperature variations and magnetic fields to support reliability in demanding environments. The movement’s oscillating weight is decorated with Côtes de Genève and bears the MIDO logo, and the Caliber 80 is adjusted in three positions to optimise accuracy for its HMSD and day functions.

Comfort and versatility

A brown leather strap with contrasting white stitching and a stainless-steel pin buckle engraved with the MIDO logo softens the watch’s tool-driven specification. The quick-change lug bar enables straightforward strap swaps, and a 49.06 mm lug-to-lug length offers on-wrist presence while remaining wearable for regular use.

Founded in 1918 by Georges Schaeren, MIDO pursues original yet timeless designs backed by robust Swiss mechanical watchmaking. The Ocean Star 200C reflects this philosophy through modern materials, high-end finishes and an automatic movement with a strong power reserve and resistance to magnetism.
