Design & Mechanics

Grade 5 titanium shapes the case, crown and screw-in caseback of every SUB 300 Ti5. The alloy runs roughly 40% lighter than stainless steel while exceeding it in mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. On a dive watch worn for hours at depth, that weight differential is felt immediately.

The 42.50 mm case measures 13.40 mm thick, with a domed anti-reflective “glass box” sapphire crystal above two superimposed titanium dials whose laser-cut upper layer creates the characteristic SUB silhouette. DOXA’s patented unidirectional rotating bezel carries an outer depth scale and an inner dive-time scale, calibrated to US Navy no-decompression limits. Water resistance holds to 300 metres.

Movement & Materials

Beneath the caseback sits a Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, each unit individually certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres after several days of testing across multiple positions and temperatures. The COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement beats at 28,800 vph and stores approximately 38 hours of power reserve.

For the Whitepearl, DOXA extends luminescence beyond the hands and indices. The entire dial surface is coated in Super-LumiNova: by day, intense white against the titanium’s metallic grey; after dark, a uniformly glowing instrument without a single unlit corner. The Whitepearl is the collection’s most technically considered exercise in dial engineering.

At USD 3,190.00, the SUB 300 Ti5 competes directly with steel alternatives from the dive-watch segment while offering a material upgrade that commands a measurable premium in manufacture and finishing. Grade 5 titanium requires specialised machining that few brands absorb at this price tier.
