  • Two limited edition Pilot’s Watches created with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ driver George Russell, each limited to 1,063 pieces.
  • Black zirconium oxide ceramic cases with Ceratanium® components and titanium case backs engraved with Russell’s racing number “63”.
  • Black dials with printing and Super-LumiNova® in Russell’s signature blue, paired with matching blue rubber straps.
  • In-house IWC calibres: 69380 chronograph movement with 46-hour power reserve and 32112 automatic calibre with 120-hour power reserve.
  • EasX-CHANGE® strap system and 10 bar water resistance on both references.

IWC Schaffhausen extends its partnership with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team through two Pilot’s Watches dedicated to George Russell. The pieces translate the British driver’s visual identity into focused, technical designs in black zirconium oxide ceramic, punctuated by his instantly recognisable blue.

Russell worked with IWC’s creative team to define the concept: a daily sports watch that feels personal yet true to the brand’s instrument-watch heritage. His “63” logo and signature blue act as the anchor points, set against clear Pilot’s Watch dials, advanced case materials and robust manufacture movements.

Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell

The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell (Ref. IW389411) highlights IWC’s ceramic know-how in a 41.9 mm black zirconium oxide ceramic case that is light and highly scratch-resistant. The crown and pushers are executed in Ceratanium®, combining titanium’s low weight with ceramic-like hardness.

The dial delivers a classic cockpit-inspired layout: matte black with numerals and indices printed in Russell’s blue, and black hands filled with matching blue Super-LumiNova®. Inside, the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre offers a column-wheel-based chronograph with a 46-hour power reserve. A soft-iron inner case supports resistance to magnetic fields, while a screw-in crown, glass secured against pressure drops and 10 bar water resistance reinforce its tool-watch credentials.

Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell

The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell (Ref. IW328107) offers a three-hand alternative in a 41 mm black zirconium oxide ceramic case with a Ceratanium® crown. It mirrors the chronograph’s blue-highlighted black dial, blue Super-LumiNova® and 10 bar water resistance, while reducing the case height to 11.4 mm for added versatility.

The IWC-manufactured 32112 calibre inside delivers a 120-hour power reserve via a double-pawl winding system. A soft-iron inner case helps protect the movement from magnetic fields, and the watch features central hacking seconds and a date display. Both George Russell models are fitted with blue rubber straps in his signature tone, secured by Ceratanium® pin buckles and equipped with the EasX-CHANGE® system for rapid, tool-free strap changes.

Design codes rooted in a driver’s identity

These editions are deliberately centred on Russell’s own visual language. His blue, present on his current helmet and now on the dials and straps, reflects a calm but competitive character and ensures immediate recognition. Titanium case backs engraved with the number “63”, which has accompanied him since karting, complete the connection between cockpit and wrist.

Within IWC’s wider history of instrument watches, advanced materials and long-standing engagement with motorsport, the pair express a more personal side of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ partnership. The watches distil that relationship into two focused Pilot’s references with clear provenance and everyday usability.

Why it matters

These George Russell editions bring together elements that resonate strongly with collectors in the GCC: technical materials such as ceramic and Ceratanium®, a direct Formula One™ link and manufacture calibres with substantial power reserves. By grounding the aesthetic in Russell’s signature colours and racing number, IWC creates limited Pilot’s Watches that feel genuinely individual while remaining faithful to its aviation roots.

For private clients and enthusiasts seeking contemporary pilot’s pieces with authentic motorsport ties, the Chronograph 41 and Automatic 41 George Russell offer a coherent, modern option within IWC’s line-up.
