A bolder, more legible Seastrong
The Alpina × TRTS Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic Special Edition channels enthusiast input into a diver focused on clarity. It reworks the familiar Seastrong design through a revised dial, new markers, and a reinterpreted Alpina logo at 12 o’clock to emphasise immediate legibility.
Developed with The Real Time Show hosts Alon Ben Joseph and Rob Nudds, the project treats the dial as the true interface. The flange has been removed to enlarge the visible dial and make room for bolder indices and an integrated minute track, so the watch reads cleaner while still echoing Alpina’s sports-watch heritage.

For co-designer Rob Nudds, the Seastrong range was the natural platform for a compact dive tool. The 39 mm Seastrong Diver Extreme case set clear parameters: strong contrast, a single hit of colour, and a dial built for instant reading with minimal distraction.
That colour appears as the orange seconds hand sweeping above a charcoal dial whose fine grain sits under a glossy lacquer layer. The wordmark and “Automatic” text are rendered in black, fading from view at certain angles so attention falls first on the white lume and orange hand.
Alpina developed the pure white lume specifically for this watch, giving crisp brightness in low light while preserving the near-monochrome character of the design.

Dial architecture and details
Without the rehaut ring of the core Seastrong collection, the dial opening feels broader, giving more space to the applied markers and to-the-second minute track. Dark-framed hands filled with white lume stand out clearly against the grey dial to support fast, confident reading.
Around the edge, the matte black base of the ceramic bezel insert blends with the charcoal dial, while glossy raised minute markers echo the dial’s lacquered elements. This contrast of matte and gloss ties case and dial together and keeps focus on the elongated orange tip of the lumed seconds hand.

Alpina’s Director, Oliver van Lanschot Hubrecht, presents the collaboration as a way to bring a new design perspective into the Seastrong family and to connect with a different audience. The Real Time Show team drew on conversations within The Real Time Network and one-to-one discussions with listeners, feeding that feedback into details such as dial openness, contrast, and the chosen case size.
Wearing experience and release
The watch is supplied on a black rubber strap that visually links with the screw-down knurled black crown. Case dimensions of 39 mm in diameter, 12 mm in height, and 40.5 mm lug-to-lug give a compact fit suited to a wide range of wrists while retaining the stance expected of a modern dive tool.

The Alpina × TRTS Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic Special Edition is a limited-release reference, first offered as an online exclusive from 27 November 2025. From February 2026 it is scheduled to reach Alpina retail partners worldwide, with production held to small numbers and a price of €2,195 when purchased directly from Alpina’s website.
Why it matters
This Special Edition turns collector dialogue into a production diver that sharpens legibility, contrast, and fit while staying true to Alpina’s sports-watch roots. For enthusiasts who favour compact, capable tools with considered dial design over showiness, it offers a focused evolution of the Seastrong line shaped by real-world discussion and use.
