The Founding Idea: Big Bang and the Art of Fusion
Hublot placed a gold case on a natural rubber strap in 1980, and the provocation has defined every watch the manufacture has produced since. The porthole bezel with its exposed screws gave the brand its name; the principle of combining materials that had no obvious business being together gave it a philosophy. When the Big Bang arrived in 2005, it took that principle and hardened it into an aesthetic: large case, layered construction, visible architecture. The watch won the Best Design award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève that same year.
The Big Bang was never positioned as a single, static reference. From its first generation, the collection treated the case architecture as a variable rather than a fixed point, expanding across materials, sizes, and complications. Ceramic, carbon, titanium, and Magic Gold entered the vocabulary in succession. The in-house UNICO calibre, developed to give the movement the same visual weight as the case, embedded the flyback and column wheel directly into the dial-side layer where a wearer could observe them.

The Big Bang Reloaded: What Changed
The Big Bang Reloaded carries a 44 mm case across five material variants: Titanium Ceramic, All Black, Blue Ceramic, Dark Green Ceramic, and Magic Gold. The three references chosen for the Tokyo campaign cover the core of the range. Pricing in Japan, as declared by Hublot, sits at JPY 3,223,000 for the Titanium Ceramic and JPY 3,388,000 for the Blue Ceramic and All Black, inclusive of tax.
Against earlier Big Bang chronographs, the Reloaded specifically amplifies what the UNICO movement does on the visible side of the dial. Colour, contrast, and architectural layering are calibrated to draw attention to the column wheel and the flyback mechanism rather than treat them as finishing details. The construction of the case itself is designed to be read as a system. For collectors already familiar with the Big Bang at Watches and Wonders, the Reloaded sharpens the proposition rather than redirecting it.

Tokyo as an Editorial Space
The choice of Tokyo for the campaign launch is precise. Omotesando functions as Japan’s luxury retail corridor, and the Tokyu Plaza Omotesando “Omokado” façade, the Omotesando Wall Board, and the Omosan Synchro intersection are among the highest-visibility surfaces in that environment. Adding 50 bus shelters across the city extends the campaign from the luxury precinct into the broader urban fabric. The Omokado Vision installation runs until 27 September; all other placements remain active through 4 October.
Jung Kook, who performed “Dreamers” at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Opening Ceremony and whose solo debut “Seven (feat. Latto)” entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number one, brings a reach that operates simultaneously across music, fashion, and cultural platforms. Hublot’s partnership with him connects the Big Bang Reloaded to an audience that spans from Tokyo’s Omotesando boutique district to collectors across the Gulf and beyond.
Movement & Materials
The UNICO calibre is Hublot’s in-house manufactured movement, and the Reloaded deploys it with the column wheel and integrated flyback architecture arranged so both are legible through the dial. This is not a subtle modification: the architecture is the dial. Ceramic cases bring hardness, scratch resistance, and tonal depth that titanium alone cannot replicate, while the Titanium Ceramic variant combines the structural lightness of grade-five titanium with the surface properties of ceramic at the bezel and case components.
Hublot’s warranty structure, updated from January 2026, covers eligible purchases with a five-year basic warranty and the option of a further five-year extension through the Hublotista programme, bringing total potential coverage to ten years. For the region’s collectors, that policy changes the long-term ownership calculus in a way that previous warranty terms did not.
