RICHARD MILLE
Richard Mille is a Swiss watch house founded in 2001 by Richard Mille and Dominique Guenat and based in Les Breuleux. Its first watch, the manually wound RM 001 Tourbillon, was unveiled at Baselworld in 2001: an exhibition caseback, a torque indicator and a power-reserve display set the tone for everything that followed. The house joined the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie in 2007 and now makes some of the most sought-after watches in the world.
Heritage
Richard Mille came to the project after years at Finhor, Matra and the jeweller Mauboussin. The brand was built in partnership with Guenat’s Montres Valgine and, in its early years, with Audemars Piguet, which held a stake in the company. Cases and many movement components are now machined in Les Breuleux by ProArt, part of the Richard Mille Group alongside Horométrie, Montres Valgine and VMDH.
Collections
The tonneau-shaped case, skeletonised movements and materials borrowed from motorsport and aerospace define the collection. Athletes wear the watches in competition, from tennis and Formula 1 to cycling, where Tadej Pogačar joined the Richard Mille family in 2026 with the RM 64-01 developed with Colnago. The RM 71-01 Talisman, designed by Cécile Guenat, shows the jewellery side of the range.
