A New Chapter for the Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon

The Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon Jasper evolves Cyrus Genève’s vertical tourbillon line in a more compact 42.5 mm format, limited to five pieces and combining the brand’s architecture with natural jasper and an in-house movement.

The grade 5 titanium cushion case draws on the 2018 Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon while reducing the diameter from 44 mm for improved wearability. Alternating finishes emphasise the geometry, and the twin crowns remain a hallmark: at 3 o’clock for winding and setting, and at 9 o’clock as a push-button crown for rapid hour correction.

Vertical Tourbillon and Architectural Dial

At the centre is a vertical tourbillon cage on the main axis of the dial, inclined at 90 degrees and conceived by Jean-François Mojon. The steel cage completes one rotation per minute and serves as a running seconds display via square markers on a five-second scale.

An arched rhodium-plated bridge with bevelled edges spans the dial, while the openworked layout reveals wheels and levers and mirrors the retrograde indications on either side. The three-dimensional construction places the tourbillon as the visual and mechanical focus under the domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Jasper, Retrograde Time and Power Reserve

Time is displayed via retrograde minutes on the right and jumping retrograde hours on the left, arranged around the tourbillon in semi-arches above black microbeaded bridges. These arches are clad in jasper stone set within a rhodium-plated profile and paired with matte white Arabic numerals, with each set of inserts offering subtle variations.

A 5 mm sphere with a black microbeaded finish at 12 o’clock indicates the four-day power reserve and echoes the Cyrus logo at six o’clock, reinforcing the axial layout around the vertical tourbillon.

The CYR625 Manufacture Calibre

The hand-wound manufacture calibre CYR625, developed in-house under the direction of Jean-François Mojon, beats at 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and uses two parallel barrels to deliver a power reserve exceeding 100 hours. The movement comprises 344 components and 51 jewels, with matte black lacquered ratchet wheels bearing the Cyrus propeller logo.

The vertical tourbillon cage is made of 52 steel components, weighs 0.706 grams and completes one rotation per minute, visible from both dial and case back. Functions include retrograde jumping hours, retrograde sweeping minutes, seconds on the tourbillon cage and a power-reserve display, with finishing such as chamfered bridges, a curved sunray pattern, alternating polished and sandblasted surfaces with grey NAC treatment, and mirror-polished screws.

A Contemporary Statement in Haute Horlogerie

A black alligator leather strap secured by a grade 5 titanium folding clasp decorated with the Cyrus symbol completes the piece. The Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon Jasper is offered as a five-piece limited edition under reference 539.506.TT.SP.A, with a price of CHF 150,000 excluding taxes.

Cyrus presents this creation as a three-dimensional composition in which the vertical tourbillon, jasper stonework and the CYR625 movement converge, aimed at collectors of titanium haute horlogerie sports watches and limited edition Swiss tourbillons who favour sculptural, technical pieces.
