A Shapeshifting Take on FIABA

Maurice Lacroix reinterprets its FIABA line with the FIABA Square, keeping the Italian “fairy tale” spirit while updating the form. The case rounds the rectangular outline into pebble like contours, blending heritage cues with a contemporary, ergonomic profile.

Echoing rectangular FIABA models from the 1980s without copying them, the design unites the strength of a square with the softness of a circle so the watch sits discreetly on the wrist and pairs easily with jewellery.

Design, Proportions and Daily Comfort

All twelve references share a 24mm by 34mm stainless steel case only 6.5mm thick with 5 ATM water resistance. The compact footprint and low profile position the watch as a daily companion that slips under a cuff and suits urban wear.

The integrated Easychange system allows straps and bracelets to be swapped quickly without tools, making it simple to alternate between steel and leather or adjust colours for different occasions.

Dials with Texture and Light

Two principal dial finishes define FIABA Square. One is a silver sunbrushed surface with a central flinqué zone where a geometric ripple catches the light; the other is a white mother of pearl dial on models with pistachio or sky blue straps, playing with colour and natural iridescence.

Roman numerals printed in black aid legibility, while the applied M logo and hands are finished in rhodium, PVD 4N or PVD 2N depending on the case and bracelet, with some versions adopting blue hands for contrast under a sapphire crystal with neutral anti reflective coating.

Unisex Palette, Configurations and Movement

The FIABA Square is presented as unisex and built around three main case finishes: stainless steel, stainless steel with PVD 4N and stainless steel with PVD 2N. Four single tone Gold PVD models in Steel Gold PVD 4N or yellow Gold PVD 2N cater to warmer metallic tastes, supplied on a matching bracelet or calf leather strap with the Easychange attachment.

The collection also includes bicolour steel and PVD models on steel bracelets or calf leather straps, as well as a Steel Silver edition, while four steel models on calf leather straps in black, brown, pistachio and sky blue extend the offer from classic to more playful. Inside, the Ronda 762.E quartz movement is selected for reliability and low maintenance, and with a 10 year power reserve it is intended as a long term companion, complemented by a customised bottom screw with Swiss cross motif on the caseback that signals its Franches Montagnes origin.

Pricing Structure

Pricing is structured by material and configuration: the stainless steel version on a leather strap is set at CHF 850, rising to CHF 900 on a stainless steel bracelet. Models with a white mother of pearl dial are priced at CHF 950, PVD 4N or 2N references on leather straps at CHF 1,050, bicolour steel bracelet versions at CHF 1,150 and full PVD bracelet executions at CHF 1,200.
