A New Chapter in the Maurice Lacroix x Label Noir Story

This third Maurice Lacroix x Label Noir collaboration follows earlier limited editions that sold out quickly, including the 2020 AIKON limited to 50 pieces and the 2024 monochromatic MASTERPIECE Skeleton limited to 288 pieces. It brings together the AIKON’s urban profile and a Manufacture Skeleton calibre treated in black with turquoise details.

Geneva-based Label Noir, founded in 2011, is recognised for dark surfaces punctuated by controlled colour. On the AIKON Automatic Label Noir, this is expressed through black coatings, technical finishes and calibrated turquoise contrasts on a contemporary Maurice Lacroix platform.

Design: Black Architecture with Turquoise Energy

The 45.00 mm stainless steel case features brushed and polished surfaces fully coated in black DLC, with 10 ATM (100 metres) water resistance. A smoked sapphire caseback framed in black DLC is engraved with “LIMITED EDITION OF 100”.

A smoked gradient sapphire dial with black M-logo and white printings leaves the skeletonised movement as the focus. A turquoise external flange with black hour markers frames the display, while black facetted hour and minute hands filled with turquoise Super-LumiNova and a turquoise small seconds hand at 6 o’clock work with a white and turquoise scale for clear reading.

The ML234 Manufacture Skeleton Movement

Inside the AIKON Automatic Label Noir is the ML234, an automatic skeleton Manufacture movement developed by Maurice Lacroix. It delivers approximately 48 hours of power reserve, runs at 18,800 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz) and uses 34 jewels.

The skeletonised mainplate is structured around five concentric circles that open views onto the balance, openworked barrel and gear train. A black DLC front plate with “trait tirés” finishing adds linear texture, while rhodium bridges with Colimaçon patterns and a rhodium skeleton rotor combining Colimaçon and “trait tirés” finishes play with light across the mechanism.

Straps and Everyday Versatility

The watch is delivered with two straps in matching tones: a dark grey nubuck strap with debossed M-logo for a softer look, and a turquoise FKM rubber strap embossed with “MAURICE LACROIX” for a sportier character.

Both use the Maurice Lacroix Easy Strap Exchange system for rapid, tool-free changes, and a black DLC butterfly buckle maintains the all-black framework of the case and external components.

Limited Edition and Collector Appeal

The AIKON Automatic Label Noir is limited to 100 pieces, each marked on the smoked sapphire caseback. With previous Maurice Lacroix x Label Noir creations having sold out rapidly, the brand notes that hesitation is not advised for those wishing to secure one.

Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, underlines Label Noir’s skill in handling black and grey while injecting bright colours such as turquoise around the bezel and case. He adds that this third collaboration responds to clients who requested another Label Noir edition after missing earlier models.

Why It Matters

For collectors in the GCC, the AIKON Automatic Label Noir combines a Manufacture Skeleton movement, black DLC architecture and turquoise detailing in a tightly limited series. Its mix of openworked mechanics, quick-change straps and metropolitan styling aligns with regional interest in expressive Swiss watchmaking.
