Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N: 25 Pieces in Yellow Gold

Armin Strom's Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N pairs a 3N yellow-gold movement with a 43 mm steel case. Limited to 25 pieces at CHF 82,000.

A Focused Look

  • Embargoed until 16 October 2026, the Zeitgeist 1665 3N limits production to 25 pieces, each caseback engraved “1 out of 25”, reference ST26-ZG.90, priced at CHF 82,000.
  • Manufacture Calibre ARF21_ZG links two independent balance wheels through a patented resonance coupling spring, delivering 80 hours of power reserve at 3.5 Hz.
  • The mainplate and bridges carry a 3N yellow-gold coating; chapter rings are black lacquered and polished, producing a layered contrast that exposes the movement’s architecture.
  • A 43 mm stainless steel case and dark grey Alcantara strap frame the skeletonised movement without competing with it.

The Resonance Mechanism

Christiaan Huygens documented the phenomenon in 1665: two pendulum clocks mounted on the same wooden beam would synchronise spontaneously, their oscillations mirroring one another in opposite phase. Armin Strom’s ARF21_ZG calibre applies that observation at the wrist. Two independent balance wheels are coupled by a proprietary resonance spring. They synchronise through physics rather than gearing, and the coupling holds that synchrony through the movement of the wrist.

At 3.5 Hz with twin barrels providing 80 hours of autonomy, the calibre adds a flyback function that resets both seconds hands simultaneously. That symmetry of motion, visible through the open dial, is the practical expression of the 1665 principle that gives this edition its name. The Fondation Haute Horlogerie counts resonance among the most demanding complications to execute correctly at production scale.

Finishing & Construction

Each of the 25 pieces is assembled twice: once to confirm the movement runs, a second time to confirm it runs correctly. The matte surfaces of the yellow-gold-coloured mainplate and bridges throw hand-bevelled, polished edges and black-polished screws into sharp relief. Perlage and circular graining are applied even to components not visible in normal wear.

The thermally blued “pomme” hands in stainless steel are produced and finished in-house by hand. Against the off-centre black dial, described in the specification sheet as “vernis laqué poli”, they supply a third visual layer without disrupting the movement’s geometry. The dark grey Alcantara strap with grey stitching keeps the wrist presentation neutral, directing attention inward toward the gold-toned calibre.

Edition Details

Twenty-five pieces, CHF 82,000 each, water-resistant to 3 ATM. The 43 mm case measures 11.55 mm in height with a 49.60 mm lug-to-lug span. For collectors across the Gulf considering a position, early contact with the manufacture is the practical path given the edition size.

Frequently Asked Questions

What movement powers the Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N?

The watch houses the in-house Manufacture Calibre ARF21_ZG, a manual-winding movement featuring two independent balance wheels coupled by a patented resonance spring. It beats at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vph) and delivers an 80-hour power reserve via twin barrels.

How many pieces of the Zeitgeist 1665 3N are being produced?

The edition is limited to 25 pieces. Each caseback carries an individual engraving reading '1 out of 25', and the reference number is ST26-ZG.90.

What is the price of the Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N?

The watch is priced at CHF 82,000.

What does the '1665' in the model name refer to?

1665 is the year Dutch physicist Christiaan Huygens first documented the phenomenon of resonance, observing that two pendulum clocks fixed to the same wooden beam would synchronise autonomously. Armin Strom's ARF21 calibre applies the same principle to a wristwatch via a patented resonance coupling spring.

Is the Armin Strom Zeitgeist 1665 3N available in the Middle East?

The piece is available on request from Armin Strom or an authorised retailer in the Middle East. Given the edition size of 25 pieces worldwide, early enquiry is advisable.
