A new pulse of colour in the Gravity Equal Force story
Armin Strom adds a warmer, salmon-toned expression to its benchmark micro-rotor watch with the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon. The salmon coloured PVD coated mainplate sits within a 41 mm stainless steel case and is paired with a grey nubuck leather strap with matching stitching and keepers.
Part of the System 78 collection, the watch reflects Armin Strom’s independent approach and focus on visible mechanics. The off-centre grey toned sapphire dial keeps the movement open, drawing attention to the equal force barrel, micro rotor and the hand-finished bridges and plates produced in Biel/Bienne.

Engineering constant precision
At the core is the Armin Strom manufacture Calibre ASB19 with a stop-work declutch mechanism inside the barrel combined with a micro rotor. This patented configuration delivers constant force to the balance wheel across the 72-hour power reserve, improving isochronism and stabilising timekeeping, while the micro rotor maintains a relatively slim profile and efficient winding.
The open architecture showcases the equal force barrel and offset hours, minutes, small seconds and power reserve indicator on the dial side. Beating at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour) and comprising 202 components with 28 jewels, Calibre ASB19 illustrates Armin Strom’s “Science of Movement” philosophy by uniting technical solutions with clear, legible layouts.

Crafted by hand in Biel/Bienne
Every component of Calibre ASB19 is hand-finished at Armin Strom’s manufacture in Biel/Bienne, with bevelled and polished bridges, black polished screws, circular graining, Geneva stripes and perlage applied to haute horlogerie standards. Each timepiece is assembled twice to support reliability alongside finishing quality.
The salmon mainplate is a dedicated canvas for decoration, produced in collaboration with Kari Voutilainen using hand-guilloché enhanced by PVD treatment and the transparency of the sapphire dial. Rhodium, facetted and polished hands with Super-LumiNova® filling aid legibility against the grey-toned, off-centre sapphire subdial, while the grey nubuck strap and stainless steel folding clasp complete a restrained, cohesive presentation.

Limited annual production
The Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon is produced in a limited series of 25 pieces per year, reflecting Armin Strom’s low-volume, high-touch approach. With water resistance to 3 ATM, a 41 mm by 12.65 mm stainless steel case and a lug-to-lug measurement of 48.09 mm, it is conceived as an everyday wearable example of independent Swiss horology, offered at CHF 27’500.-.
Why it matters
By combining a patented equal force barrel and micro-rotor architecture with an artisanal salmon guilloché mainplate, Armin Strom reinforces its position at the intersection of mechanical innovation and hand-finishing. The Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon gives collectors a tightly limited, transparently constructed piece that foregrounds the movement as the dial while maintaining automatic winding and a 72-hour power reserve.
For GCC collectors who value independent Swiss watchmaking with substance and discreet individuality, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Salmon stands out as a focused, long-term addition to a curated collection.
