An Urban Icon from the Swiss Jura
Launched in 2016, the AIKON defined Maurice Lacroix’s vision of an everyday urban watch and became the brand’s best-selling collection. The AIKONIC extends this design language with new materials, a dedicated movement and a refined interchangeability concept under the “innovative craftsmanship” ethos.
Crafted in Saignelégier with locally sourced components and nearby specialists, the AIKONIC reflects the Franches-Montagnes and wider Swiss Jura while expressing Maurice Lacroix’s approach to accessible everyday watchmaking.
A Carbon Dial with a Local Signature
Central to the AIKONIC is its carbon dial made from numerous fibres running in one direction, appearing as alternating grey and black lines, so each dial has its own character while preserving a cohesive look.
This unidirectional carbon, more often seen in Haute Horlogerie, is produced with a specialist firm around 40 kilometres from Saignelégier. The black dial features a rhodium M-logo, silver printing, rhodium indices with a sandblasted central line, rhodium facetted hour and minute hands filled with white SLN, a rhodium seconds hand and a date at 3 o’clock.

Ceramic, Steel and Light: The AIKONIC Case
The AIKONIC remains instantly recognisable, with six double-width arms on the bezel echoed in the shapes of the hands, hour markers and crown. Maurice Lacroix now uses matt zirconium oxide (ZrO2) ceramic for the bezel and the crown’s outer cover for scratch resistance and long-term stability, while the stainless steel case alternates vertical brushing, polished surfaces and variable chamfers.
An upgraded sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides improves dial clarity and is designed for enhanced resistance to salt water, complementing the 43.00 mm case, 11.00 mm thickness, 10 ATM (100 metres) water resistance and sapphire caseback.
ML Easy Change: Everyday Versatility
The AIKONIC is delivered on a bi-rubber strap combining a black or blue base with a black or white textured nylon-imitation rubber insert and matching stitching, paired with the new-generation ML Easy Change system developed as part of the “IC” philosophy with a patent in progress.
Where the central row of links meets the case, the construction pivots to release the bracelet or strap without tools and without visible levers; reattachment is intuitive as the wearer aligns the bracelet and presses until it clicks, preserving the integrated aesthetic.
The ML1000 Calibre: Precision from the Jura
To support the AIKONIC, Maurice Lacroix developed the ML1000 automatic calibre in close collaboration with Soprod, a movement specialist less than 10 kilometres from Saignelégier, keeping the project within the same Jura ecosystem.
Visible through the exhibition back, the movement features a balance bridge fixed by two screws for stability and symmetry and a large openworked oscillating mass that improves winding and reveals the decoration. The calibre runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), uses 26 jewels, has an average daily rate of ±4 seconds and provides a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.

Why It Matters
For discerning collectors in the GCC, the Maurice Lacroix AIKONIC brings together Swiss Jura craftsmanship, urban design and high-precision performance, supported by ceramic components, enhanced anti-reflective treatment and a robust 60-hour power reserve.
Combined with the ML Easy Change system and integrated aesthetic, it offers a versatile everyday companion for dynamic city lifestyles in the region.
