A deliberate alliance in independent watchmaking
Renaud Tixier, the independent Swiss haute horlogerie house founded by Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier, has appointed Ace Jewelers as its exclusive authorised retail partner in the Netherlands. The brand is building a focused network with partners who understand low-volume production, mechanical innovation, and the nuances of independent watchmaking.
Ace Jewelers has long supported independent and technically driven brands from its base in Amsterdam. Its experience with founder-led maisons and direct engagement with collectors mirrors the values behind Renaud Tixier, making the arrival of the Monday in Amsterdam a considered placement.

“We are extremely selective when it comes to our retail partners,” notes Michel Nieto, CEO of Renaud Tixier, crediting Ace Jewelers with integrity, deep knowledge, and a genuine passion for independent watchmaking. These qualities align with the project and its focus on long-term relationships with collectors.
From Ace Jewelers’ perspective, Renaud Tixier offers the mix of technical substance, authenticity, and long-term vision it seeks in an independent brand. CEO Alon Ben Joseph sees introducing the Monday to Amsterdam as an extension of Ace’s commitment to independent haute horlogerie and to nurturing collectors over time.
Renaud Tixier and the Monday
Conceived as a platform to reinterpret classical watchmaking archetypes, Renaud Tixier unites two generations of experience. Dominique Renaud, co-founder of the movement atelier Renaud & Papi in 1986, is regarded as an influential movement creator, while watchmaker Julien Tixier brings a precise, experimental spirit to the collaboration.

The Monday is the first expression of this philosophy and is envisioned as part of a family of seven creations, each built around a patented technical innovation. It applies an analytical approach to timekeeping so the watch appears classical yet reflects a research-driven mindset.
The white gold case measures 40.8mm in diameter with a 51.3mm lug-to-lug span and is 10.5mm in height without the crystal and 12.6mm including the domed sapphire. Hand engraving along the case flanks and engraved plates between the lugs add an artisanal dimension, while a sapphire case back offers a full view of the movement.
The blue petrol dial pairs grained and brushed textures, with brushed and polished applied indices and matching hands. A blue calf strap with nubuck-like texture, Alicante lining, and hand-stitching completes the configuration.
Caliber RVI2023: a technical statement
At the heart of the Monday lies Caliber RVI2023, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on analytical construction and elevated finishing. The movement measures 36.8mm in diameter and 6.69mm in height, with 274 components and 31 jewels, running at 2.5Hz (18,000 A/h) and offering a minimum power reserve of 60 hours.
Its architecture presents 187 interior angles and combines titanium bridges and balance cock with a gold-plated platinum micro-rotor and a platinum inertia wheel. The mainplate and barrel bridge are in German silver, while the barrel ratchet carries a silver plate that is engraved, chiselled, and grand feu enamelled, highlighting the handwork visible through the sapphire case back.

Why it matters
The appointment of Ace Jewelers as exclusive authorised retailer in the Netherlands reflects a deliberate, low-volume path for Renaud Tixier rooted in independence and continuity. By pairing the Monday and Caliber RVI2023 with a retailer known for cultivating long-term collector relationships, the brand underlines its commitment to substance, craftsmanship, and measured growth.
