Mumbai opened the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève’s 2026 World Tour on 29 September, with 78 nominated timepieces drawn from across more than 50 brands gathered under one roof at the St. Regis Hotel. Ethos Limited, the publicly listed Indian retailer with a portfolio of 75-plus luxury watch brands, brought the exhibition to the city. Setting and Exhibition Format

The St. Regis Mumbai provides the backdrop through 1 October 2026, with the GPHG Academy’s full selection of nominees accessible to both the general public and experienced collectors. Beyond the display cases, the programme includes workshops and guided tours led by subject-matter experts, structured to explain the technical and aesthetic decisions behind each piece. Yashovardhan Saboo, Founder and Chairman of Ethos Limited, described India as “one of the world’s most exciting and fast-growing markets for fine mechanical watches,” with a collector base expanding quickly enough to justify anchoring the World Tour’s opening leg in Mumbai.

The World Tour Itinerary

Bangkok follows from 15 to 18 October, organised in partnership with PMT The Hour Glass. The tour then travels to Geneva’s Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, where the nominated pieces remain on view from 29 October to 15 November. For collectors in Europe and the Middle East who cannot attend the earlier stops, London offers a final opportunity: prize-winning timepieces will be shown at the Watches of Switzerland boutique in Knightsbridge from 18 to 23 November. Nineteen prizes are at stake across the GPHG 2026 cycle, the highest being the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix. The 26th awards ceremony takes place in Geneva on Saturday 7 November, broadcast live from 6.30 pm CET on gphg.org. Raymond Loretan, President of the GPHG Foundation, framed India’s inclusion as carrying “obvious significance,” pointing to the country’s millennia-old relationship with the art of timekeeping and its accelerating presence on the global collecting circuit.
