BOVET 1822

Founded in 1822 in London by Édouard Bovet, Bovet 1822 is a Swiss haute horlogerie house now based at the Château de Môtiers in Neuchâtel. Fully independent and owned by Pascal Raffy since 2001, Bovet is one of the few watchmakers that designs and produces its movements, dials, and gem-setting entirely in-house through its DIMIER 1738 manufactures. The Maison built its reputation on artistic, highly complicated timepieces, exporting to China in its early years before re-establishing itself as a modern haute horlogerie name under Raffy’s ownership.

Amadeo Innovation

Bovet’s signature achievement is the patented Amadeo case, launched in 2010, which converts a single watch between wristwatch, table clock, and pocket watch without tools. This engineering feat, developed over seven years, defines the brand’s flagship Amadeo Fleurier collection and reflects its focus on functional artistry over conventional case design.

Craftsmanship & Complications

Every Bovet watch reflects the brand’s commitment to hand-finishing, from guilloché dials to multi-layer translucent lacquer work applied and polished entirely by hand. Its Récital line houses the Maison’s grand complications, including world timers and tourbillons, earning Bovet the GPHG’s Aiguille d’Or in 2018 and the Men’s Complication Prize in 2025 recognition that places it among the most decorated independent watchmakers in Switzerland.
