Hanhart 417 ES Limited Edition: 0260 x BAIT x Hanhart

Hanhart, 0260 and BAIT release a 417 ES limited edition in two colourways of 88 pieces each. Available from 23 October 2026 via Chrono24.

What Makes It Special

  • Priced at EUR 2,890 / USD 3,300 and limited to 88 pieces per colourway, the Hanhart 417 ES 0260 x BAIT is a manually wound bicompax pilot’s chronograph powered by a Sellita SW510 M calibre in a 39 mm stainless steel case.
  • Two colourways: black dial with cream sub-dials and red accents; cream dial with brown sub-dials, each on vintage saddle leather.
  • Conceived by Lex Borrero (0260) and Eric Peng Cheng (BAIT), both GQ Watch Collector of the Year recipients.
  • Released exclusively on Chrono24 on 23 October 2026 for a 24-hour window before moving to authorised retailers.

Borrero and Cheng took Hanhart’s 417 ES, the German manufacture’s pilot’s chronograph from the 1950s, and reframed it through the visual codes of historic motorsport. The dial genealogy runs deeper still: a similar layout of bold Arabic numerals oriented towards the centre appears in Hanhart’s own catalogue from the 1930s, on the Model 881.

The black-dial variant pairs cream sub-dials with red accents and the signature fluted bezel of the 417 ES.

Design & Mechanics

Both dials carry slender numerals and fine scales, joined by the fluted bezel of the 417 ES with its red marker. The bezel rotates bidirectionally without click stops, faithful to the original pilot’s-tool specification. Hands are curved at the tip to counter parallax error and coated with Super-LumiNova.

Under the screw-down caseback sits the Sellita SW510 M: manual winding, 28,800 vph, 23 jewels, minimum 48-hour power reserve. Hanhart regulates each movement in-house in Gütenbach to a daily rate of 0 to +8 seconds averaged across six positions, with a maximum inter-position variation of ten seconds.

Market Position

At EUR 2,890 incl. VAT, this sits below the majority of Swiss-manufacture bicompax chronographs at comparable specifications. The SW510 M is a well-regarded manually wound column-wheel movement, and the 39 mm case places the watch squarely in the current sweet spot for vintage-proportioned chronographs.

For the Gulf collector, Chrono24’s international shipping and the watch’s Hanhart manufacture regulation make it straightforward to acquire and authenticate from the region. Both colourways remain available through authorised retailers after the 24-hour Chrono24 window closes.

Why Collectors Care

The 88-piece limit per variant is tight enough to matter on the secondary market, particularly given the profile of the two collaborators. Among limited-edition collaborations across collecting cultures, the motorsport framing and the dual GQ Watch Collector of the Year pedigree give this edition a clear story to carry.

BAIT’s background in high-demand limited releases across streetwear and collectibles brings a collector base beyond traditional watch circles. For Hanhart, the project extends the 417 ES to an audience for whom watches and car culture are already the same conversation.
