WATCHESPEDIA is a Swiss-born luxury watch and jewellery editorial network, publishing since 2020 with a dedicated focus on collectors across the Middle East. This page sets out the standards that govern everything we publish. It exists so that readers, collectors, and the maisons we cover know exactly how our reporting is produced and held to account.
Editorial independence
Our coverage is editorially independent. WATCHESPEDIA maintains longstanding relationships with more than forty maisons across communications, press, and events, and we operate an e-shop — but commercial relationships never dictate what we report or how we report it. When a piece touches on a brand we have a commercial relationship with, that relationship does not change our editorial judgement, and it does not buy favourable coverage.
Sourcing and verification
We report new references from manufacturer specifications, primary press materials, and first-hand reporting where available. Technical details — calibres, case dimensions, materials, water resistance, editions, and pricing — are checked against official sources before publication. Where a specification cannot be confirmed against a primary source, we say so rather than presenting an estimate as fact.
Corrections and updates
When a story develops or facts are clarified, we update the article and, where the change is material, note that it has been amended. If you believe we have published something inaccurate, contact us and we will review it promptly. We treat corrections as a matter of record, not an embarrassment to be hidden.
Authorship and expertise
Our articles carry a named byline, and our authors are watch and jewellery specialists who report on the houses, releases, and craftsmanship that define the industry. Our editors have covered the field’s defining gatherings — Watches & Wonders Geneva, Dubai Watch Week, the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, Geneva Watch Days — as well as landmark auctions at Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Antiquorum, and Phillips.
Our Gulf focus
WATCHESPEDIA reports for readers in Europe and the Middle East. That means covering the releases, boutiques, exhibitions, and collector culture of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman with the same rigour we apply to Geneva and Basel — and giving weight to the events and houses that matter most to collectors in the region.
How our content is produced
Every article is researched, edited, and reviewed against primary sources and official manufacturer materials before it goes live. Editorial oversight rests with our team; production tools assist our workflow, but the standards on this page — sourcing, verification, independence, and correction — apply to every piece we publish, without exception.
