AMOUAGE
Amouage is the high-perfumery house of the Sultanate of Oman, founded in Muscat in 1983 at the request of Sultan Qaboos bin Said and created by the Al Busaidi family to be “the Gift of Kings”. It is operated by Oman Perfumery, a company of the Omani SABCO Group, and fragrances such as Gold set the tone for a house built on frankincense, rose, myrrh and the raw materials of the Arabian Peninsula.
Heritage
Every bottle carries Oman: the cap of the women’s fragrances takes the shape of the dome of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, while the men’s cap replicates the handle of the khanjar, the ceremonial dagger that is the national emblem. The Manufacture and Visitors’ Centre in Muscat, opened in December 2012, produces the fragrances and welcomes the public. Renaud Salmon became creative director in 2025, the year Amouage joined the Aura Blockchain Consortium as its first Middle Eastern beauty house.
Collections
Gold, Jubilation, Epic, Dia, Reflection, Honour and Interlude form the core of the catalogue, joined by the Exceptional Extraits such as Overture 41, bottled in Muscat in 2026. Amouage runs 21 standalone boutiques, including the Mall of Oman and the Dubai Mall, and is sold in department stores worldwide.
