ABDUL SAMAD AL QURASHI
Abdul Samad Al Qurashi is the oldest name in Saudi perfumery. The family business began in Makkah in 1852 as a trade in agarwood, the resinous oud that has scented the holy cities for centuries; in 1932 Sheikh Abdul Samad Al Qurashi turned it into a perfume house, and his sons later merged their four workshops under his name. The house still processes much of what it sells, from Taif rose oil to oud distillates, and counts more than 500 boutiques around the world.
Heritage
ASQ built its reputation on raw materials rather than marketing: dehn al oud, pure musks, ambergris and the rose of Taif, sold by the tola as they have been for generations. Pilgrims leaving Makkah carried the name home, which is how a family shop became a Gulf institution.
Collections
Alongside the classic oils, the house has moved into modern sprays and playful collaborations, most recently the Viva Macaron line created with the Saudi patisserie Aani & Dani in 2026. Kaaba-scented bakhoor, Al Qurashi Blend and the Safwa oud remain the signatures that regulars in Riyadh and Jeddah return for.
