Gallet Returns After 200 Years, Now Manufactured by Breitling

The Headline Facts

  • Across four collections spanning three families, Gallet returns 200 years after its 1826 founding in La Chaux-de-Fonds, now manufactured entirely within Breitling‘s infrastructure.
  • Three Gallet Classics tribute pieces run exclusively on the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B09, a hand-wound COSC-certified movement with approximately 70 hours of power reserve.
  • The Flying Officer, Multichron Pilot, and Multichron Sport share the Gallet 23 calibre and stainless-steel cases water-resistant to 100 metres.
  • Quick-release interchangeable straps with a shared 20mm lug width span the entire collection, swappable without tools across leather, rubber, field, and fabric options.

Four Collections, One Heritage

Gallet’s 2026 return is structured around four distinct references, each tracing a specific chapter in the brand’s tool-watch lineage. The Flying Officer (40mm) addresses long-distance travel through a rotating bezel calibrated to 24 contemporary destinations. Its chronograph variant carries the Gallet 23, while the three-hand version uses the Gallet 17 with a slimmer 10.67mm case profile.

The Multichron Pilot (42mm) draws directly from the original 1969 exploration chronograph. Its telemeter scale, bi-directional bezel, and second-timezone tracking make it the most technically layered of the core trio. The Multichron Sport (41mm) shares the same Gallet 23 movement and adds a tachymeter scale, with vivid orange chronograph hands carrying through from the historic Multichron 12 Scientific.

Heritage & Lineage

The Gallet Classics sit apart from the core collection in both movement and proportion. All three pieces measure 38mm, carry the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B09, and are COSC-certified. The Tribute to Multichron Yachting Big Eye revives the oversized countdown subdial from 1960s regatta racing. The Tribute to Multichron 45 reinterprets interval-timing precision through a deep black dial with tone-on-tone subdials. The Tribute to Silverlight takes its cues from the Multichron Navigator, with a silver-toned dial and stylised numerals.

“Gallet was born in an age of exploration and has followed that path ever since,” says Georges Kern, CEO of House of Brands (Breitling, Gallet, and Universal Genève). “We’re proud to bring Gallet back for a new generation.”
