Why Certina Dressed Its DS Action in Padel Colours

Certina extends its DS Action collection with four watches drawn from the energy of padel: two automatic divers of 38 mm and two quartz chronographs, each set in black with orange, green or blue accents.

Key Highlights

  • Four new DS Action executions, presented by Certina on 21 October 2026: two DS Action Diver 38 mm and two DS Action Chrono.
  • Black PVD-coated steel cases with orange, green or blue accents, a palette taken from the padel court.
  • The Diver runs on the automatic Powermatic 80, with up to 80 hours of power reserve, and is certified to ISO 6425:2018.
  • All four models are water resistant to 300 metres; the Diver is listed at CHF 865 and the Chrono at CHF 595 in Switzerland.

A Sport Certina Adopted Early

Certina has supported padel since 2021 and describes itself as the first watchmaker to actively invest in and support the sport. Fast, strategic and played in pairs, padel has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and the house now carries that energy into DS Action, its line of modern sports watches. In the official presentation, colour is described as an expression of energy and confidence, set against a technical black foundation.

The result is a family of four watches in which every accent has a role: the seconds hand and the bezel graduations of the divers, the counters and hands of the chronographs. The launch was also reported by WatchPro on 23 October 2026.

DS Action Diver 38 mm: Orange or Green

The two divers share a black PVD-coated stainless steel case of 38 mm, 13.22 mm high, with a matt ceramic turning bezel. One execution is accented in orange, the other in green, on the seconds hand and the bezel graduations. Each colourway is offered on a black DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet for a monochrome reading, or on a matching silicone strap for a sportier one.

Inside is the automatic Powermatic 80, with a power reserve of up to 80 hours and a Nivachron balance spring. The watch is certified to ISO 6425:2018, the international standard for diving watches, and is water resistant to 300 metres. Its 38 mm diameter suits a wide range of wrists, and Certina lists the model as unisex.

DS Action Chrono: Orange or Blue

The chronographs move to 42 mm, 13.78 mm high, in black PVD-coated steel with an aluminium bezel ring. Reference C048.417.37.051.01 carries blue accents on a black rubber strap, a nod to the colour of the padel court; reference C048.417.37.051.03 is accented in orange on a matching silicone strap. Both are driven by Certina’s Precidrive quartz technology, chosen for its precision during active use.

Across all four models, the DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance combines a reinforced dial, a securely fixed movement and a strengthened sapphire crystal, while Super-LumiNova details keep the dial legible in every light.

Padel and the Gulf

The timing speaks to the region. The 2026 professional season is the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour, and Riyadh hosted the Riyadh Season Premier Padel P1 from 9 to 14 February 2026 at Padel Rush Arena in BLVD City. Watchmaking has followed the sport onto the court: Gerald Charles accompanied Gemma Triay at Premier Padel Madrid, and Frederique Constant marked its partnership with the Pro Padel League with two limited editions.

Certina publishes its prices in Swiss francs; in the Gulf, the four models are offered through authorised Certina retailers. The house belongs to the Swatch Group, alongside Tissot, whose prices in Saudi Arabia we follow in our guide.
