LOUIS VUITTON
Louis Vuitton was founded in Paris in 1854 by the trunk-maker Louis Vuitton, who opened his house on Rue Neuve des Capucines. Part of LVMH since the group was created in 1987, the house today spans leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, fragrances, jewellery and watches.
Heritage
In 1858 Louis Vuitton introduced flat-topped trunks in Trianon canvas, light, airtight and easy to stack for travel. His son Georges launched the Monogram canvas in 1896, and the Keepall followed in 1930, soon joined by the Speedy: both are still made today and remain at the heart of the house’s Art of Travel.
Collections
Nicolas Ghesquière has led the women’s collections since 2013 and Pharrell Williams the men’s since 2023. Leather goods, from the Keepall to the Speedy, sit alongside ready-to-wear, fragrances and jewellery, while the house’s watchmaking is presented under La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. In 2026 the Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run carried the Keepall across the passes of the Dolomites.
