The Piece in Focus
- Introduced at Milano Watch Week 2026 (2–4 October, Palazzo Mezzanotte), this new dial colour marks the latest addition to the Maxima GR8 39mm Incolor Sapphire, an edition limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
- The Ultraviolet dial pairs with a fully transparent incolor monocrystalline sapphire case, keeping the central flying tourbillon visible from every angle.
- The automatic KRB-13 calibre houses 233 components, beats at 28,800 vph, and delivers 65 hours of power reserve via two parallel barrels.
- Recommended retail price is CHF 330,000 excluding taxes.
At Palazzo Mezzanotte on 2 October 2026, Kerbedanz chose Milano Watch Week 2026 as the setting to add a fourth dial colour to its Maxima GR8 39mm Incolor Sapphire collection. The Ultraviolet option joins Sepal Blue, Baby Blue, and Emerald Green within a global allocation of 50 pieces, according to the Maison’s press communication. “Milano has a unique relationship with design, colour and personal style,” said Vahé Vartzbed, CEO of Kerbedanz. “With the Ultraviolet dial, we wanted to bring an unexpected energy to the transparency of sapphire while keeping the central tourbillon as the absolute focal point of the watch.”

Sapphire and Colour in Dialogue
Machining a case from monocrystalline sapphire is among the most technically demanding operations in contemporary watchmaking. The material requires extremely precise machining, polishing, and finishing to achieve the complex geometry of the GR8 case while preserving optical purity throughout. On the 39 mm Maxima, a domed sapphire crystal further accentuates the depth of the composition, adding a three-dimensional quality that flat glass cannot replicate.
The Ultraviolet dial was chosen for its intensity and its capacity to interact with light passing through the case. The vivid colour appears almost suspended within the sapphire, constantly shifting in character as ambient light changes. Transparency, rather than concealing the movement, places the mechanical architecture on full display from every perspective.

The KRB-13 Calibre and Its Central Tourbillon
The automatic KRB-13 calibre drives a one-minute central flying tourbillon with hand-chamfered components. Hours and minutes are displayed peripherally, leaving the entire centre of the dial dedicated to the tourbillon cage and its continuous rotation. The openworked dial is exclusively designed, manufactured, and hand-decorated for Kerbedanz, reinforcing the architectural depth of the construction. Water resistance is rated to 30 metres, and a rubber strap with a titanium deployant buckle and an interchangeable system completes the specification.
