DUKE
DUKE is an independent haute horlogerie house based in Luxembourg, founded by Alessio Muller and presented publicly in 2023. It is the first watch manufacture established in the Grand Duchy. Muller came from haute couture rather than watchmaking, and built the project by seeking out independent craftsmen — among them Vianney Halter, who agreed to help him start.
Couture Thinking Applied to Watchmaking
DUKE’s approach treats construction the way a couture house treats a garment: proportion, line and material first, with the mechanism engineered to fit. The watches are recognisable by an octagonal case, double sapphire bridges and a heavily architectural presentation. The reference points are contemporary design and building form rather than horological precedent.
The Clarity Tourbillon
The house’s movement work centres on a tourbillon designed and produced in the Swiss tradition, paired with a patented concealed winding rotor that keeps the mechanism visible from both sides. Production is small and the pieces are made for collectors seeking rarity. Establishing a manufacture in Luxembourg — a country with no watchmaking history — is itself the brand’s founding statement.
