BIVER
Biver was founded by Jean-Claude Biver together with his son Pierre. Jean-Claude Biver is the most consequential executive of his era in watchmaking — a fifty-year career taking in Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Omega, Hublot, TAG Heuer and LVMH — and the family house is the first to carry his own name. Its stated purpose is to make watches without commercial compromise.
The Carillon Tourbillon
Presented in spring 2023, the Carillon Tourbillon Biver is a minute repeater striking on three gongs, combined with a tourbillon and wound by a micro-rotor, finished by hand to a standard aimed squarely at the top of the market. Choosing the most demanding acoustic complication as a first watch was a deliberate statement of intent. Production is measured in a handful of pieces each year.
A Family House at the Top End
The brand is run by father and son, with Pierre Biver leading its day-to-day direction, and draws on a small circle of specialist suppliers and finishers rather than building a factory. The collection has since broadened beyond the repeater while remaining extremely limited. It is positioned explicitly as a legacy project rather than a commercial venture.
