Team Netherlands claimed victory at the Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping Final in Barcelona

As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the newly-named Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping series, Longines timed the victory of Team Netherlands at the coveted Final held at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. United States’ Team finished second ahead of Team Belgium. This event was also the occasion for Longines and the FEI to announce the creation of two new awards, the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Rider and the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse. In addition, the Swiss watchmaking brand presented the Official Watch of the event, its new model Conquest V.H.P, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.
In addition to being the FEI’s Top Partner, Longines is also the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping Final, which took place today at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. As such, the Swiss watchmaking brand had the pleasure to time the victory of Team Netherlands made-up of Jur Vrieling on VDL Glasgow v. Merelsnest, Michel Hendrix on Baileys, Marc Houtzager on Sterrehof’s Calimero and Harrie Smolders on Don VHP. As a reward for their triumph, the winning team members received an elegant Longines timepiece from the hands of Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing. This thrilling Final marked the end of several months of intense preparation and exciting competitions across Europe but also in the USA, Mexico, Canada and the UAE.
On Friday 29 September, Longines was associated with another highlight of the event, the Longines FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping - Challenge Cup, which was won by Team UAE in front of Team Ireland and Team Brazil. In addition, the brand is looking forward to presenting the Longines Cup of the City of Barcelona, taking place tomorrow, thus concluding these four days of exciting competitions.
Longines has chosen this prestigious event in the show jumping calendar for the European launch of its new model Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision”, which represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. Earlier today, Longines, together with the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale), proudly announced the creation of two new awards, the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Rider and the Longines FEI World’s Best Jumping Horse, which will be granted to the year’s best rider and horse in the discipline of Jumping, according to The Longines Rankings. In addition, under the agreement between the Swiss watch brand and the FEI, Longines is the Title Partner of the three series (Western European, North American and China Leagues) as well as the Final of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping.
