Over the weekend, the Italian capital was the host of the 12th edition of archery's annual international circuit, supported by Longines as Official Partner and Timekeeper since 2008. As such, the Swiss watch brand was proud to present Danish archers Stephan Hansen and Sarah Sonnichsen with the Longines Prize for Precision, a title which rewards the female and male athlete who have scored the most “10s” throughout the entire Archery World Cup season.

Over the entire Archery World Cup season, starting with the first event in China – followed by three other stages in Antalya, Turkey; Salt Lake City, USA; and Berlin, Germany – the world's best archers in each of the four competition categories tried to qualify for the coveted final, taking place this year in Rome. Joined by one host nation representative, in total 32 athletes took part in this highlight event of the international archery calendar.

In the compound category, USA’s Braden Gellenthien and Colombia’s Sarah Lopez claimed the 2017 World Cup title, while South Korea’s Kim Woojin and Ki Bo Bae were crowned winners in the recurve category. In addition, the Swiss watch brand Longines, Official Partner and Timekeeper of the circuit since 2008, presented the Longines Prize for Precision, in the form of a Longines timepiece, a trophy, and a cheque to compound archers Stephan Hansen and Sarah Sonnichsen, which have distinguished themselves as the athletes having scored the most “10s” throughout the whole season.

A model from The Longines Master Collection has been chosen as the Official Watch for the 2017 Archery World Cup Final. This timepiece, featuring a sunray blue dial, is perfectly in line with the classic and understated spirit of this collection and come in several diameters, so that men and women can find the watch best suited to their wrist.

Longines plays a key role in timing the competitors and presenting the results for all the contests in the Archery World Cup. This sport embodies the values upheld by the brand since its inception, namely precision, tradition and elegance. In order to be successful, archers must have total control over their bow and their arrows, which is achieved through concentration, balance and precision.
